NOW Foods Acacia Fibre Organic Powder - 340 g

Why Choose Organic Acacia Fibre?

Acacia fibre, also known as gum arabic, is a naturally occurring soluble fibre derived from the sap of the Acacia senegal tree. This organic powder from NOW Foods provides a gentle and effective way to increase your daily fibre intake. Unlike some other fibres, acacia is known for its mild flavour and effortless mixing—it dissolves quickly in water or juice without forming a gel. Ideal for those seeking a digestive-friendly fibre supplement that fits seamlessly into a busy lifestyle.

How Does Soluble Fibre Work?

Soluble fibre refers to plant-based carbohydrates that resist digestion in the small intestine. When dissolved in water, acacia fibre forms a viscous gel that helps maintain normal bowel function and supports healthy cholesterol levels already within the normal range. Most people in the UK fall short of the recommended 30 g of fibre per day, so a supplement can help bridge that gap. Adding acacia to your diet is a simple step towards better digestive health.

How to Uses

Mix 1 tablespoon (approximately 5 g) of powder into at least 240 ml of water, juice, or your favourite beverage. Stir until dissolved. Begin with one serving daily and gradually increase as needed. For best results, drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.

Potential Benefits

Acacia fibre contributes to normal bowel function and helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. As a prebiotic, it also nourishes beneficial gut bacteria, supporting a healthy microbiome. These benefits are recognized by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) when used as part of a balanced diet. Individual results may vary.

Who Should Take This Supplement?

Anyone aiming to boost their daily fibre intake—especially those with occasional irregularity, digestive concerns, or a diet low in whole plant foods. Vegans, vegetarians, and individuals following gluten-free or organic lifestyles will appreciate this clean, plant-based option.

Possible Side Effects

Fibre supplements can cause gas, bloating, or cramping if introduced too quickly. To minimise discomfort, increase your dosage gradually and stay well hydrated. If you have a medical condition or are taking medication, consult your doctor before uses.
